Police Registration Information for International Students

Students of certain nationalities will need to register with the police.
You only have to register with the police if that requirement is stamped in your passport or biometric identity card. You must register within seven days of arriving in the United Kingdom, or within seven days of being granted a visa extension.
What you need to register
- Registration fee of £34.
- Completed Police Registration form.
- Your passport
- 2 Passport photos
Failure to register with the police in the allocated time is a criminal offence and you will be in breach of your immigration conditions.
You must keep your Police Registration Certificate up to date. You must inform the police as soon as possible if you:
- Change your address
- Move from an area covered by one police force to a different one
- Extend your visa in the UK
- Obtain a new passport
You will need to re-register with the police if you are out of country for more than 12 months. If you lose your PRC, You should report it to the police as soon as you can and you will need to apply for a new PRC.
